Hello Hello!

Just a quick note to let you know that Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys is now available for purchase on iTunes!

Meanwhile, we are wrapping up our US theatrical tour, beginning our UK theatrical tour and making plans for Finland. (I’m sorry, Finns, you’ll have to wait!) Check out our screenings page for upcoming screenings.

For those of you that are waiting on your kickstarter rewards or pre-ordered Aatsinki DVDs, I’m sorry to say that there has been yet another delay in the printing. DVDs will be shipping by the end of June. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Aatsinki in Finland and the Official Poster

We are so excited to announce the Finnish premiere of Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys at DocPoint Helsinki at the end of this month. I look forward to seeing you there!

In the meantime, we’ve finally settled on an official poster. I hope you like it!

Aatsinki in Theaters Near You!!

The cowboys will soon be coming to a theater near you! Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys will be opening at the IFC Center in New York City beginning January 24th!
Details coming soon, as well as information about other U.S. screenings throughout the winter and early spring.

Aatsinki Season – Final Installment!

We are very excited to announce the release of the final installment of The Aatsinki Season, the online interactive companion to Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys. Thanks to the brilliant creative technologists at Murmur and the generosity of the Aatsinki family, you can now experience a full year in the life of a Finnish reindeer herder. And while you’re getting your arctic cowboy on, we also hope you will take a few simple actions (which you’ll find throughout the interactive) to help families like the Aatsinkis around the world.

Aatsinki Season: Summer

We sure are keeping busy around here — we just launched the summer installment of The Aatsinki Season, the interactive companion to Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys. Check it out and let us know what you think!

The newest cowboy

A few of you may have been wondering why Aarne’s brother Lasse was not in NY this past week for the premiere. Well, he was working a different gig with his bride-to-be Heli Karjalainen. The latest addition to the Aatsinki family, born just yesterday!

Final Screening

The Tribeca Film Festival is finally drawing to a close. We have only one screening left – tonight at 10pm!
We’ve had an amazing week full of new experiences, packed screenings, sight seeing and lots and lots of coffee. Once again, I didn’t take any photos, but here are a few from Raisa’s camera.

Thanks so much to everyone who made it out for the screenings. And for those of you who don’t live in NY, we hope to be coming your way soon! Check our new screenings page to see where we are playing next.

Raisa and Aarne enjoy Cosmopolitans at the TFI party

Aarne gets a lesson on how to eat with chopsticks

It was Aarne’s first time bowling, yet he still nearly tripled my pathetic score. Raisa didn’t do too bad either. I wish I could say I was just trying to make them look good with that score, but unfortunately, I’m really that bad…

Loved the Salla logo on Aarne’s sweatshirt. It made every shot into a laugh.

Arctic Cowboys Take NY

Aarne and Raisa are here in New York for the premiere of Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys.
Despite an amazing day of exploring at the American Museum of Natural History, shopping for ribbons and trimmings in the Garment District, Shake Shack and Mexican food, I didn’t take *any* photos.
These are from Raisa.
It is so wonderful to have them here.

Here, Aarne enjoys the company of my wee gecko.

Aarne and Raisa introduce me to their new herd. Luckily, their ears are big enough for Raisa to practice her ear-marking.

This is when my phone went crazy and Aarne and I are trying to figure out how to reset it. Raisa just added the caption.

“Houston, we have a problem.”

Spring Season

With the Tribeca Film Festival now officially underway, we are pleased to announce the launch of the next seasonal installment of The Aatsinki Season.
Springtime in Lapland meet springtime around the world.
And don’t forget to check out our talk at TFI Interactive day on April 20th. Just a few short hours before the world premiere of the feature, Aatsinki: The Story of Arctic Cowboys.
This is a big week for us!
